Estoy va’ ser fuego !!!!!!!

After a 10 week documentary course I’ll be showing a short experimental photodocupoem titled Praise Poem for Bronx Girls Who Make Shopping At Rainbow More Than Enough.

For a few years now I have been collecting Abuela Stories on small pieces of paper similar to the ones where the women in my family wrote to do lists, prayers, recipes – anything they needed to remember.
These little slips of paper were then carried close to the chest inside bras or close to the womb in the pockets of aprons.
In May of 2019, I created an installation at the Bronx Spaceworks studios based on The Abuela Stories Project Anthology and featured all the Abuela Stories I have gathered.
Some new stories were added by visitors.
This will continue to grow.
