{"id":1876,"date":"2019-06-17T13:17:36","date_gmt":"2019-06-17T19:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.robleswrites.com\/myblog\/?p=1876"},"modified":"2019-06-17T13:17:36","modified_gmt":"2019-06-17T19:17:36","slug":"collection-of-abuela-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/robleswrites.com\/index.php\/2019\/06\/17\/collection-of-abuela-stories\/","title":{"rendered":"Collection of Abuela Stories"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collection of Abuela Stories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a few years now I have been collecting Abuela Stories on small pieces of paper similar to the ones where the women in my family wrote to do lists, prayers, recipes &#8211; anything they needed to remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These little slips of paper were then carried close to the chest inside bras or close to the womb in the pockets of aprons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In May of 2019, I created an installation at the Bronx Spaceworks studios based on The Abuela Stories Project Anthology and featured all the Abuela Stories I have gathered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some new stories were added by visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will continue to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maferefun Egun<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.robleswrites.com\/myblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ABUELA-01v2-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1905\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Collection of Abuela Stories For a few years now I have been collecting Abuela Stories on small pieces of paper similar to the ones where the women in my family wrote to do lists, prayers, recipes &#8211; anything they needed to remember.
